Dining in Montpellier

On our final few days in Montpellier, after side trips to Bordeaux and Marseille, we dine several times outside at Café Gilles, a small tapas café near our apartment.  Dinner is an assortment of delights, often starting with charcuterie, camembert, and frites, followed by margret de canard (duck) skewers and other treats.

Back at Café des Arts near the market, we have a prosciutto bruschetta, sea food stew (tuna, shrimp, scallops), and fillet of St. Pierre (John Dory).

Over at Rosemarie, two blocks from our apartment, we have grilled sardines and burrata with pesto.

For our final dinner in Montpellier, we return to Café Gilles for more tapas:  croque monsieur, jambon platter, and another margret de canard.

We also should mention breakfast in our apartment.  We rise every day and head over to the local boulangerie for a fresh baguette and a chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat).  Adding the fresh bread and croissant to our pre-bought bananas, butter, jam, assorted charcuterie, and cheese, we have a delicious, delightful petit dejeuner!

Soon, our time is up in Montpellier and we return to Paris, the first step of our journey home.
