From the Luxembourg Gardens (near the Sorbonne), we stroll down Boulevard Saint-Michel to Place Saint-Michel on the Seine near Notre Dame. We find a small market set up in Place Saint-Michel and wander over.
We've been walking for a while and we take a break to share a small carafe of wine at a café in Place Saint-Michel, across from the small market.
After our wine, we stroll along the Seine, starting near Notre-Dame, which is surrounded by cranes and construction buildings for the rebuilding work to recover from the devastating fire in April 2019.
On the banks of the Seine, the roads along the river are closed and filled with tables, cafes, and bars.
On the Seine, the large bateaux mouche ships cruise up and down the river full of sightseeing folks. Others are cruising the river in smaller private tours.
Reaching the Jardin du Tuileries (where we started this walk much earlier in the day), we leave the Seine and cut through the gardens to our hotel.
