We spend a weekend in New York City just before Christmas and "it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, with magic in the air." The trees and decorations on the buildings are magnificent! Our hotel is right in Times Square, so we first walk out of the square past Radio City Music Hall (home of the Rockettes), over to Rockefeller Center.

Across from Rockefeller Center are the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue. What an incredible display, everyone is out looking.

From there, we wander back into Times Square, the center of the madness!
The next day, we walk past Macy's on 7th Avenue and 34th Street (Remember "Miracle on 34th Street"). The windows are less bright (maybe it's a night time thing), but still packed with people looking. We swing by later after dark and can't get near the windows for the crowd.

And, inside the store, wow ("Walking in a Winter Wonderland")!

And, back out on the streets, just strolling around brings new delights in every block.

And, to top it all off, it is
SantaCon in New York, the annual pub crawl of people dressed in Santa outfits. We see them start, upright, in the morning and not-so-upright in the evening. Many bars have signs outside that they are not participating in SantaCon and Santas are not welcome. We start to figure out why as we watch Santas stagger around late in the day.
