Sunday Morning in Lê Văn Tám Park

Sunday morning, I pass by Lê Văn Tám Park, about 15 minutes from the center of Saigon.  Lê Văn Tám was a young Vietnamese hero who sacrificed himself at the age of thirteen in the fight against France.  Some believe he is a fictional character, but apparently real enough to have a park named after him.

The park is small, about a city block, but full of people walking on the path around the park, exercising, socializing, and having a good time.

Morning exercises

The park has beautiful paths through the trees and open areas with fountains and gazebos to sit and spend time with friends and familiy.

Meanwhile, other people are finding individual ways to express themselves, with music (a group providing a trumpet concert), exercises, badminton, or a party.

And, of course, the rides.  Even though this is a small park, there are carnival rides and play areas for those interested.

 Rides in the park

It's Sunday morning and people are just enjoying themselves, doing their own things, in the park. What a great way to spend the day with friends and family and I'm honored to observe it all.
