Dinners in Monterosso al Mare

Our first dinner in Monterosso is at Il Casello, sitting on their outdoor patio on the Mediterranean, enjoying the setting sun lighting up the town and the sea.  We dine on anchovies "Ligurian style," stuffed anchovies, and penne with white fish.

Our second night, we head down the hill to L'Osteria, just off Piazza Garibaldi in Monterosso, where the owner remembers us from last year and welcomes us back to Monterosso and to his restaurant.  We settle in and share baked anchovies, mussels in white wine, and ravioli with shrimp and branzino.

The next night, we return to L'Osteria to have the baked anchovies again, followed this time by spaghetti with seafood and branzino.

What great meals!  Not only do we enjoy the beautiful hikes and the tremendous hospitality of the people of Monterosso, but we dine incredibly well.  That's why we come back every year!
