Clearwater Beach is located on a barrier island between the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. With 2.5 miles (4 km) of white sand beaches, Clearwater Beach has been periodically named the best beach in the U.S.

After lunch, we walk south along the beach to the end of Clearwater Beach, crossing the bridge to Sand Key, the next barrier island.

We've had a quick trip, basing ourselves in Clearwater Beach and visiting towns up and down the Gulf Coast from Naples to Port Richie. We could hang out here for a long time, swimming, sunning, and eating fish tacos. What a great life that could be!
