We walk from West Lake and the
Quán Thánh Temple and Trấn Quốc Pagoda over toward Hoan Kiem Lake, passing through Old Town Hanoi and the Dong Xuan Market. This market is the largest covered market in Hanoi, was first established by the French in 1889, and has just about anything one could wish to purchase.

On the edge of the market, we stop for a beer, before continuing our meander through the streets of Old Town.

We emerge from Old Town on the shore of Hoan Kiem Lake, a center of Hanoi city life where people gather to rest, eat, play, or simply walk around the lake.

It's been a peaceful wander through Old Town, Dong Xuan Market, and around Hoan Kiem Lake. We've seen a lot of the city and had a beer (or two). We like it here!
