I first walk over to the Sanremo market to view the great fish, meat, and produce for sale, especially the fish and cheese, which have their own separate markets. I purchase a kilogram (2.2 pounds) of Grana Padano cheese to bring home and they cut a wedge off one of the big wheels for me.

I walk along the sea, admiring the parks and grand houses making up the modern city along the coast.

Returning to the harbor, I find the beach and grand hotels of the city (not much beach activity on a cold, rainy fall weekday) and the casino.

I've wandered through much of Sanremo and it's time to explore the nearby towns.
